Random Musings

The brilliance that is Mariah F. Carey:
I’m not wacko. But my point is already made. I mean, we’re all a little wacko sometimes, and if we think we’re not, maybe we are more than we know,” Carey said.

Found this on Table Talk and had to laugh:
Sadly, Susan’s revelation of the No Scrubbing Bleach Method is making me look forward to cleaning my grout.

How is it that my life has devolved to this point?

Comments from rtb on Table Talk re: this season of Survivor:
God, what a bad season…but what a GREAT reunion show!!! Dimples just rocked like a big rockin’ thing, keeping it moving, asking hard questions, making jokes, showing that unlike Bryant he liked the game, and unlike Rosie he understood how it was played.

I agreed with him on this, too: Brian is one of the smartest players of the game. I don’t like him, but I feel he really earned it, more so than maybe any other Survivor. Like Richard, he played the others like chess pieces and kept a very zen-master sense of calm the whole time; he was never not in control. Like Tina, he seemed to earn a lot of trust and respect–even from people who clearly should not have felt either for him. Like Ethan, he managed to be more likable than most, kind of the guy other guys want to be and girls want to be with (although in the likeability regard he didn’t really have much competition). Like Vecepia, he flew under the radar, even though unlike Vecepia he was a physical threat and was clearly a puppetmaster. He just managed to make each person feel like his Pinocchio, the one he’d make real at the end, while the others were just pieces of wood and string he and that lucky person manipulated. On top of which, he worked harder than most, contributing more to survival, quality of life, and tribal challenges than anyone else, and then he capped it off with a Kelly Wiglesworthesque back to back to back immunity trifecta.

Plus, he wasn’t Clay.

Oh, and at the reunion, did anyone else, when Dimples kept talking about judging books by their covers, and then went from discussing that with Stephanie to saying, “And speaking of judging books by their covers, Erin, I bet you’ve got a lot of experience on that subject”, think to themselves “OH MY GOD he’s going to out Erin as a transsexual!!!!!”?

What Mariah Carey said about insanity is true. Interestingly enough, it also applies to stupidity. ‘Nuff said. Also, the Dilbert cartoon rocks. [come to think of it, anything with anthromorphic personifications of death is naturally going to rock. :D]
