(From my daily Inspirational email)
“Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us
bigger, even though sometimes it is hard to realize this. For
the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that
the setbacks and grieves which we endure help us in our marching
onward.”
– Henry Ford
It is hard to remember this when we are in the midst of a personal crisis and when we feel that life is grossly unfair and that we have had more than our share of bad times. But deep down we have to acknowledge that our experiences, both good and bad, help make us who we are. So choose to meet your challenges head on and with your eyes and heart wide open.
Choose to learn and grow in wisdom from your tough times. Choose to rise above your circumstances and become the best you are meant to be. Don’t let
your circumstances define the limits of your life. Rather choose to let your attitude shape your happiness.

Ha! Wish I were so wise as to have said all that but I’m not. I can barely read it at this point.
Yes, and my life is just one experience after another. Can I tell you guys- I am tired of allllllllllllllllll the pets in my house. Well, mostly I’m tired of the effect of ONE animal on my house.
I am overwhelmed at work, I am now overwhelmed with freaking pets at my house, I am sad over things I am an idiot to be sad over, and I’m just generally pissed.
To sum it all up, I am pretty much at the end of my personal rope. Yeah, I know. We’ve been there before, haven’t we? And we will be out of it again too because as we know “this, too, shall pass” but you know what? I wish it would pass in a hurry because I am right at the edge. Even Rich said he could see it in my eyes today at work. Not sure what all that is about but it sure feels icky.
What’s that Serenity prayer? “Serenity NOW”? No, that’s not it. Hmm. (thinking hard) ….
And so it is now the 37th of December 2002 (a wink to my friend David in DC) and ever onward …
I found this on Matt’s blog (see links to the right – Fool? I think not!!) and thought it fit me PERFECTLY. What do y’all think?
Spiritual enlightenment, inner illumination, hidden power. Link between seen and unseen. Balance of positive and negative forces. Receptivity. Unseen guidance.
A young woman sits on a throne holding a scroll labeled “Tora” meaning “law.” On her breast is the sign of the meeting of heaven and earth, the Maltese cross. Her crown is the full orb supported by horns, the crown ofthe Mother Goddess Isis, who rules all things changeable, shown by the moon at her feet. Her power, upon which her throne rests, derives from the creative principle of duality, shown by the two pillars of light and darkness. To those who know and love her she dispenses the sweet fruit of the world itself, symbolized by the pomegranites.
