I found this on Soulful Living and it sort of fit where I am. Pastor Brown said “Learn to love with an open hand” and I know that is my lesson.
“When I was a child a small bird died in my hand.
My mother said I had held it too tightly
I guess it was because I had loved it too much
And often with you I feel like that child again
And I’m afraid…..”
