Your fortune for today… Just slack off today.
Cool – I think I will! Thanks universe!
Actually, I’ve been pretty accomplished today …. I went to the gym (yes, can you believe it??? Much more energy in the morning = impetus to go to the gym), cleaned the cat box (ewwwwie), 2 loads of laundry and a couple other various and sundry tasks. So … NOW I can slack off. We are showered and quite cheery!
Yesterday at work I was listening to my netscape radio and as I change channels frequently (I can only hear “Bring me to life” 37 times before it gets stale), I happened upon a station that plays tunes to work out to (very poor sentence structure that but so what). They played this song that I had totally forgotten about called “Finally” by CeCe Penniston. I almost had to get up and dance in my cube (but then I would have given away my total insanity and I work hard to keep under wraps). I have that on cd somewhere so I came home and dug it out and spent part of the morning (before I went to the gym) dancing around the computer room. I’m not sure the Peegs were entirely happy about that event (GPs are supposed to be bothered by loud noises, so I hear) but they endured it.
I danced in the room, I danced in the hall. It was great! Reminded me of my mid 20s when I danced to get all kinds of weird tension/angst out. I would dance til I worked up a major sweat. The last time I did that was when H and I went out with JGP and her husband (back in Richmond) and I was looking damn fine in my size 10 jeans and I outdanced JGP. (You’d have to know that she is often called “energizer bunny” on the dance floor to understand the very gravity of that comment). As I recall, they played “Finally” that night as well. I love dancing. I used to be very self conscious about being on the floor by myself but now … not at all. It makes me feel joyous!
(takes a quick break to dance into the bathroom to blowdry my hair)
Hey! We saw “Freaky Friday” last night and it was really cute! I loved it. Jamie Lee Curtis is really excellent in it – both she and the actress that played her daughter nailed it. This is definitely one that I want when it comes out on DVD.
Okay … that’s it for now. (I think)
