Helpful advice your mom would give you if she knew about this:
Taken from Salon’s Table Talk section
“Zicam: Zicam is just a zinc compound in a thick suspension so that when you spray/swab it it will stick to your nasal membranes. There are studies going back many years that show that getting zinc directly to the affected tissues will stop a cold from spreading because the viruses can’t pass from cell to cell. The problem had always been in delivery.
The original studies used zinc lozenges, but they’re so putrid tasting to most people that it’s better to have a cold. Zicam is much more pleasant. The company also makes several other homeopathic flu/allergy/sinus preparations. I don’t know how good any of those are, but the zinc stuff for colds is very much WEP, even at $10/bottle. (WEP = Worth Every Penny in Table Talk speak)
The key to using the Zicam is to use it even after you feel better. I always use it until I feel better plus one day.”
Goddaughter ‘O Love (the elder) – listen up! You need this. Don’t make me buy it for you as a christmas present!
Helpful (and good) advice for all you lovers out there from Dirty Whore:
“So, I leave you with one of the best pieces of advice I ever received about making love to another person: Love what he/she hides from you. This came from a friend, a true Casanova, who would observe the woman he wanted to seduce and discover what she was most trying to obscure, often a body part like a loose abdomen or imperfect breasts. And he would worship that part, sincerely adoring it, making her feel appreciated down to her toes. I’ve used the same technique with men. As long as I can be honest — it helps to have a strong imagination and a talent for self-hypnosis — I can help someone open up and share himself with me more deeply than if he were still self-conscious. After all, that has rewards for us both.”
Guys, listen to her. She’s right.
Going to the dentist today for visit #237. Whee. Can not wait.
