In a complete turn-around from my previous MSL hate earlier this hockey season, I now lurve him (sorry Witchybitch!) and am thrilled to death that *he* scored the winning goal in double overtime last night in the Stanley Cup finals. I shouldn’t get so wrapped up in this stuff since it ain’t The Caps (hahahahahh let me stop laughing now) but I just feel Tampa Bay has had a hell of a season and deserves it.
Bless me Father for I must confess my sin: I love the little gnome creature named Martin St. Louis. I must now say 3 Hail Mary’s and drink 2 Bloody Mary’s (apologies to da Eddie fone!)
Okay, here’s the happy happy news.
I. HAVE. A. NEW. JOB!!!! (Can you hear the cheering?)
It’s with another firm and I am going to be a “Planning Assistant” (lah-de-dah!). I think this is going to be MUCH less stressful and alot more FUN than the current place of employ (who shall remain nameless because I don’t want to be sued). (Edited 10/3/04 to add: WHAT THE FUCK WAS I THINKING?? Fuckin’ hell! The top’s come off the mountain! Get on the phone with Mr. Dog!)
Must give two week’s notice to boss tomorrow. That should be interesting. I may wait a day and spend tomorrow erasing weird crap off my computer. Four plus years of my work life is on there and best to get it off there ASAP. After quitting, I shall take a week and a half vacation (to nowhere) and then start at new place all relaxed and chilled.
Yeah. That sounds good to me.
So, in the same week I got a new car and a new job! What’s next? New house? New husband? New body? Hmmmm. Wonder what the universe has in store for moi.
On the GOL front, tough chemo week. Definitely sporting the Sinead O’Connor look but I think she looks darling. Somehow, she manages to find the humor in it all. I don’t know how she does it. Cousin ‘O Love is taking the mother thing wicked serious and has been by Lauren’s side almost 24/7 through it all. She is blessed to have a wonderful medical background (she’s a certified med tech in addition to lots of other cool appellations) and knows her way around a hospital. Lauren couldn’t have anyone better taking care of her. I provide the comic relief, I think, and Duty does the heavy lifting. I am glad to be so close to their family (personally and proximally).
Wish me luck handing in the notice since the ONLY other person who knows how to do my job is probably quitting soon as well. hahahahahah Yes, place of employ, paybacks are a bitch, are they not??
Woo hoo! Congrats on the new job!! It sounds a lot better and it’s right down the street from me. I hope I can swing by and take you out to lunch sometime. At least the local Starbucks will be close by!
