Jeebus. Duty took some time off today and forced asked me to go see The Bourne Supremacy. Sure, say I, since I did force ask him to see Fahrenheit 9-11 and he obliged. All I can say is that this was most probably one of the worst movies I’ve seen. Perhaps six words of dialogue in the entire thing and they were all in different languages, barely a thread of any plot and just a hellish event all the way around.
According to Washington Post critic Stephen Hunter (full review here), this basically sums up the movie:
In the first place, its subject proper isn’t espionage or betrayal but travel plans. First Matt Damon goes here and then, for some reason, he goes there. Then, having arrived there, he picks a new destination and heads over to that place. Now and then a fight or a car chase breaks out, now and then he bumps into a particular Russian assassin, but mostly he just experiences the glories of modern transportation. Then, in the end, he confesses his sins to Anna Kournikova and all is well in the world.
Bottom line: I hated it. HATED IT.
For this I gave up my afternoon of IMing??? Ugh.
So. Yes. This is all true.
Anyway, back to work tomorrow. (Took the day off today to attend to mother needs in B’more) One full day and then one half day on Friday. YEY!
Empath Intensive this weekend with Rose Rosetree. That’s gonna keep me hopping all weekend. Friday night 7-9, Saturday 10-1, 3-5 and 7-9 and those hours again on Sunday. This should be quite cool, though. I am very much looking forward to it. Yey for Woo-Woo weekends!
Oh! The GOL has been given a respite from the hell that is chemo for a bit so for her I say “Chemo can just fuck* off!!” (and pears too, for that matter) She will, however, be having surgery to pluck out that nasty-ass* tumor on September 10. Until then, she gets a “Get out of chemo free” pass and can have fun with her friends and her 12 year old godmother (me!).
Thanks to my friends and relatives who have contributed to my “100 Things about me” 2K4 version. Interesting responses, all. Even Duty answered some (“Directionally challenged”? me? Pshaw!!) I will post them soon. Still waiting on a couple (nudges Dani and The Chemo Kid).
Peace and Supremacy Grease!
* GOL won’t cuss so I have to do it for her. Not that I do it much myself, you understand. (hahahhahh)
