Could I be any more boring? (/chandler bing intonation) Just a whole lot of nuffin going these days and not much interesting to write and yes, when has that EVER stopped me, but just hush up, willya?
I sent off the five phone cards we got to the vets at Walter Reed after writing a nice note to each one thanking them for their service to our country (umm, because I’m nice like that and stuff). I read on KOS that everyone’s efforts toward sending in phone cards has reached major proportions and they’ve been flooded with them!
And she spoke to Staff Sgt. Joe Lee at Walter Reed: “He’s been put in charge of answering queries from people about the phone cards because of the overwhelming response from around the country!! He said that last month, they used 55,000 minutes for calling home – and they’re received almost that much since Geri sent out her email last week! Can you believe it!!? This is a testament to how one person CAN make a difference.” (note that the plea for assistance has circulated widely on blogs. I just added my hub.)
That just warmed my bitty heart, you know?
Work related news: Hooty has now had four complaints about her “manner” on the phone and how they all come to me (well, one came in email), I don’t know. I’m just thankful that the guy calling in to get money out of his account because his wife of 22 years left him over the weekend and the 34 year old guy who just found out he had cancer and needed his funds to set up trusts for his kids didn’t get her on the phone. I wonder if I’m going to have to start The Hooty Chronicles back up again? I don’t think that fits in with my “spiritual” self, does it? I know.
Okay okay okay
Hooty: that’s a name from the past I didn’t expect to hear again. Hopefully she has become something more resembling a normal human being. I thought she would have been fired months ago.
PLEEEEEEEZZZZEEE restart the Hooty Chronicles … I just loved them … and now that I have met her! Puh – leeeeze? Pretty please? Cherry on top? Extra large, extra hot, no foam latte???
Love you!
