Good morning babies of love! I had a faboo weekend filled with carbs, movies, tea and scones, dancing, opening an early christmas present and blessed quiet. What more could one ask for? :)
Friday, after a hellish day at work (wherein an advisor and I got into a semi-screaming match on the phone (I wrote and apologized, btw)), I picked up the Goddaughter of Love (hereafter called “Jones” for reasons to become apparent) and we went to have dinner out, do a bit of wandering in and out of shops, slow walking (crutches, you know) and meeting up with the Cousin ‘O Love for a movie (Bridget Jones’ Diary 2). I was pretty tired by the time I finally got home but hanging out with Jones was definitely a cheerer-upper. (I love that girl, dontchaknow?)
“Saturday, I’m running wild, all my lights have changed from red to green” — it was a lovely afternoon tea with Jones, Mother Jones and Sister Jones at the Ritz-Carlton. How perfectly british, you know? We had scones (crumbly and jammy) and nifty sammiches with all kinds of interesting stuff inside. Jones and sister Jones got cool PB&J sammiches in the shape of a bear. I was jealous (I’m 4 at tea parties). YUMMMM! Next year I think I will get the Winnie-the-Pooh menu so I can get pretty sammichs too. Later on, back home for some time spent in the “Woo-Woo Room” with candles and tunes and even some dancing by yours truly. (How many times in a row can you dance to Babylon, I ask you? The answer is 4, btw) “Let go your heart, let go your head and feeeeel it now ….” Hopefully, no one was peering through the doors to see the mania inside. heheh (I’m such a wild woman!)
Sunday I drove (really fast) to Delaware to drop off the Honda for the winter, met Duty and family of Duty to give a couple gifts and get one! :) By the way, 125 mph in the honda is really, really fast in case you’re wondering. Then while Duty went to see Nick play hockey, I napped at the blessedly quiet home of Duty’s brother. Max doesn’t love it there any longer since Bustah came to live with them. Cute dog but wants to play all the time and Max is definitely like “Dude, fuck off, okay? You’re annoying me.” He was quite happy to leave I think.
Anyway, it was a weekend with fun stuff built in to each day. Cool, eh?
Next post may be my philosophical ramblings about Christmas. Or maybe just more boring drivel. Who can say?
