The backstory is someone was talking about how it bothers her to see big ass SUVs with 3 “w” stickers on it careen around town. I wrote that I’ve managed to lower my blood pressure by offering those who sport those things (the stickers, not just big ass SUVs) silent blessings but I liked this chicks’s comments a lot:
Taking pride in power
Lest we forget: pride goeth before a fall.
The world view these people express so proudly is not reasoned, logical nor informed. It’s based in an aggrevated emotionality that’s been exploited to the max by BushCo. Try not to approach what you’re seeing with the same emotionality. Just remind yourself that what you’re seeing is nothing but blind ignorance .. and take heart that nothing lasts forever.
We’re only a month into The Horror, Part II & Bush’s fans are still riding the crest of the 3% victory buzz .. but the tide is already turning. In a place not too far in the future, those cute little Ws may very well turn out to be an embarrassment.
Wait and see. Nothing stays the same. Stay calm, stay strong, & remember: just because someone owns a big-ass, gas-hungry SUV doesn’t mean they’re exceptionally bright. :)
(yes, I know Duty owns a SUV. At least it doesn’t sport one of “those” stickers — la la la blessings la la la)
