… bronchitis. Oh yes, kiddies. Fun, eh?
I finally went to the docs yesterday when I realized that this may be more than it appears to be and lo and behold – she said “you’ve got bronchitis” … well, that was after she said “Boy, your lungs don’t sound good at all.”
She gave me antibiotics and some wonderfully narcotic cough med ($30 for the damn prescription!) that knocks my ass OUT. Feeling as crappy as I do, it’s definitely alluring to have something to completely knock you out for a while. And the dreams!! Lawdy Lawdy – all kinds of peeps show up in them. Grandmother, ex boyfriend, co-workers – just all kinds of things.
So, I am where I’ve been for a week now – lying in bed doing nothing but coughing and sleeping. Not watching tv, not reading, not even on the computer much (that’s how y’all should know how sick I really am!).
Despite the loss of 10lbs putting me back in my size 10 jeans (ahhh! the upside to illness), I’m ready for this to go away now. :(
Yay! Glad you sought medical attention!!!! I got a cough elixir called Brovex … loaded with codeine that did me just as your described. But really helped the cough. Fair warning: the cough lingers a while, but the energy eventually does return. Being sick just sucks big time!!!

Well thank goodness you saw a doctor. I had the flu too and had a mild case of bronchitis. Gotta be careful … easy to turn into pneumonia. Sounds nasty. The first three days of mine were bad but after that I was able to navigate.
