Because I am such a teenybopper

May 30, 2005 Written by Lisa

… I’ve spent the last half hour looking for and downloading some songs from American Idol. But only the good stuff (and to you all, “good” as regards ‘Murkin Idle may be a relative term). And oh, by the way, I am not a Clay Aiken fan. I downloaded what I’ve read is his best song “Bridge over Troubled Water” and I don’t like the way he over-enunciates. Yes, technically, he is a good singer. But I just don’t like his voice, overly. (Does this reduce the number of “totally gay” points I’ve accumulated?)

Here’s what I downloaded:

God bless the broken road / Carrie Underwood and Rascall Flats.
Had never heard the song before and generally despise country music with a passion but the duet C and RF did on the last show sounded just lovely. In fact, I downloaded the original version by RF and prefer the Carrie duet one to the original.

Against All Odds- Scott Savol
I downloaded both the original live version he did on AI as well as the one from the released CD and I love them both. I think the guy has a really nice voice. I always liked listening to him. I also got “On Broadway” and “Everlasting Love” as they were my favorites from the ones he did. And yep, I will buy a cd when he puts it out. (I’m a sap)

Vehicle – BoBice
I think this is my personal favorite of Bo’s. It really showed his sexy side (and I didn’t even dig him all that much either so this had to be pretty powerful stuff to make me see him in that light). In fact, I saved my TIVO’d version so I could gaze upon it when I need a powerblast of testosterone. :) Woof.

Oh! And speaking of music, I heard this really nifty version of the old Seals and Crofts song “Summer Breeze” on the radio today and decided to look it up. It’s on a cd of remixed 70’s songs and it’s awesome. The cd looks interesting. I might even buy it.

We walked all over Ikea today and even bought a few things. Very cool stuff for the woo-woo room as well as some planters for the porch and a few other items. Duty takes all the fun outta shopping by making me be rational. Damn him. I hate that. I dig buying “stuff” although I have to say that this decluttering is making me think about all the crap I’ve bought that I never even really liked. So, I suppose he’s doing a good thing by making me think twice but it’s messing with my shopping addiction. hehe
