Well, guys, I’ve got nothing. I am officially leading a boring life. Today my schedule consists of taking the car to “Duty’s Automotive” (guess why we picked that place to take it to?) for an estimate, maybe cleaning the bathroom, and getting the omnipresent snowball. Yee Haw. I should be taking advantage of all this time doing nothing to do more customer emails and earn my keep while I’ve got this lovely opportunity.
Anyway, a selection of interesting things I’ve found on “the internets”:
From TableTalk (written by Paul Minot) re: the fun meltdown of the strange Tom Cruise:
And Tom–until the Church of Scientology opens up a chain of psychiatric hospitals and clinics around the country and starts treating Medicaid-funded chronic schizophrenics like I have–rather than cherry-picking rich neurotic Hollywood assholes with imaginary problems to “cure”–than you can kiss my psychiatric browneye, you know-nothing prick! I can’t wait until six months from now, when your naive little starlet wises up and dumps your ass big time, you Level 7 Poohbah or whatever you are.
Tee hee …. I gotta agree with this dude. TC, you looked great in Risky Business and Top Gun (ahhhh!) but honey, STFU about shit you know nothing about. And quit pretending you do, too. Just go back to looking pretty, keep your trap shut, marry your current child-beard and go on about your little life. I promise we will all forgive you this little foray into public life as long as you look purty (and you’ve got about 3 minutes left for that so take it now while you gain. Paul Newman you ain’t, darlin)
What goes up must come down or Universal Law number 12: Karma is a bitch
WASHINGTON (AP) – The White House is suddenly facing damaging evidence that it misled the public by insisting for two years that presidential adviser Karl Rove wasn’t involved in leaking the identity of a female CIA officer.
From Daily Kos (post by Armando):
Two years ago, Scott McClellan lied on behalf of Karl Rove and/or the President or McClellan was lied to by Karl Rove and/or the President. It can not be disputed now that Karl Rove did indeed “leak classified information.” McClellan denied this fact two years ago. Who told McClellan to tell this lie to the American people? Was it Rove and/or Bush?
Why do I speculate as to whether the President was involved in this lie to the American people? Very simple. Karl Rove STILL works for the President. He has not been fired.
Forget for a moment whether a crime has been committed. The Special Prosecutor will determine that. What we know TODAY is that the Bush Administration lied to the American people. The question NOW is who directed that this lie be told? Was it Karl Rove?
Or was it the President of the United States?
Now, I have watched this admin get out of some things that I was sure would at minimum tarnish them or ultimately bring them down. Like a slippery eel, they divert attention, lie, cheat, steal – they do WHATEVER it takes to continue on with their agenda. So, while I would not be surprised to see them get out of this one (Gannon/Guckert anyone?), I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this may be the beginning of a rocky slide on down the mountain. (how many cliches can I pack into one sentence?)
(more on this on the flip side)
Someone else at Kos said this:
Does anyone really believe Bush didn’t know it was Rove who leaked this information? Like the cheating husband, deny, deny, deny. Bush knew all along it was Rove, and Rove told him not to worry, he would be sure not to be found out. Hell, it is not like it is the first time this President lied to the American people, so okay, it wasn’t about having sex, it was much worse, it brought us into a war, and to date has killed almost 2,000 Americans. They fixed the intelligence, and lied about that too. All they freaking do is lie, one right after the other. No wonder this whole Rove issue seems minor to them, it rates low on their list of Lies We told to the American people
(Yes, this went from Tom Cruise (inconsequential) to the lies of the bush admin bringing down the United States (rather consequential, I’d say. Sorry).
Actually, I feel a rant coming on so perhaps I will stop here for now. More when I am a tad more coherent and have had lots of coffee.
