As I said in yesterday’s post, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR because the Universe will always bring it to you. So, more opportunities to be of service right here in my own house! Duty has been diagnosed with a colloid cyst in his brain and will most likely be needing surgery to remove it. It’s NOT malignant and not even technically a tumor but it does need to come out because it can grow and possibly block the spinal fluid from circulating and that’s not a good thing.
We are headed to the neurosurgeon today to get more info about it. Although it’s brain surgery (and, as Duty puts it, documented proof that he does have a brain!), it’s usually a very successful surgery with minimal after effects (some short-lived short term memory loss is one of them but he’s always had that!).
So! Fun, yes?
Here’s a site that talks more about it but be warned that on subsequent pages of it, there are some small but graphic photos on the side of the page. These pictures, when viewed in a state of panic, can cause one to pass out for, oh 3-5 minutes and necessitate calling the EMS people to come make sure you are alive. Not mentioning any names (coughcoughdutycoughcough) but just sayin’, mmmkay? (They didn’t bother me but I also didn’t linger over them, click on them to enlarge them or have pending surgery on my haid either!)
Anyway, more when we know it.
(Birthday countdown – 2 days! WooooooT!)
TodNS …
Please give Duty a big ol’ South of the Border hug from the Southern Twin. Now the next time someone says to him, “this isn’t brain surgery,” he can point at his haid and say, “oh yes it is!”
Burfday presents were shipped today … I left them for my intern to walk across street to Post Office … will see if they are gone on Sunday.
It has been the week from Hell … hell I tell you. I will elab in email elater.
Love you.
Goodness, sorry to hear this about “Duty”. (I love your name for him! So perfect!) I hope this is very low surgery and I expect “Duty” will be very dutiful about the whole thing. Stock up on chicken soup!
