I had big fun with the GOL yesterday in the Princess Suite at Children’s although I am beginning to wonder if it’s ME who is causing her nausea since almost immediately upon my arrival, I was bucket fetching. Ok, okay … it was like 3 hours later but I was going for the literary effect here, people.
Since it is through La’s goodness that I was catapulted past my life long fear of someone else vomiting (I got past my own thanks to gastric bypass surgery!), family and I were wondering if there were any fears left for me. Fire engines? Nope, that went away after I moved from my mother’s apartment (and I truly think it had to do with some odd past life experience in that place). Thunderstorms? Nope. I have loved those for a long time now. Roller Coasters? Well, I did get on the “Big Bad Wolf” *and* the “Loch Ness Monster” at Busch Gardens some years ago. So, barfing was the only one left. And now, at the ripe old age of 45, I am (pretty much) past that. I would prefer, of course, not to have to clean anyone’s up (even GOL’s) but if I have to, I think I can. (Please no one test this theory, mmmkay?) However, it must be noted that the sound of Duty retching is truly repugnant. GOL is much, much daintier doing her business.
Annnnnyway …. La and I spent a good part of the day (when she wasn’t sleeping or barfing) watching the BBC version of “The Office”. Man! We have totally missed out on this show! It was hysterical (in that veddy british way, naturally). Much guffawing and chicken tender spewing was had. Now gotta get the 2nd season of it to catch up.
GOL is feeling so much better since they removed all manner of fluid from her lung. And I am so glad (as is she because breathing is an important thing). I love hanging out with her. (How redundant is that, right?)
Today I got to just hang around and catch up on TIVO’d shows, shopping, coffee drinking and stuff. It was nice to relax. Back to work tomorrow. BAH. The grass is always greener, innit?
