Yes, it’s me again with one of these annoying little blog thingys going on. Every Thursday, I shall participate in the Thursday Thirteen meme game.
According to the site, here’s what TT is all about:
Every Thursday, bloggers jot down thirteen things about their week, Thirteen secrets they’ve never shared before, Thirteen random things about themselves or their lives that give the reader a better idea of who they are. Then the fun begins, you go bloghopping! Find other Thursday Thirteeners, spend some quality time getting to know your fellow bloggers, interact with them through their lists and invite them to yours!
And you know me. I’m all about spending quality time getting to know my fellow bloggers (ahem). :) So, follow me below the fold, won’t you? I am about to divulge my first thirteen!
Twelve songs that remind me of loves past (some have ‘splanations and some don’t) and one for the goddaughter of love:
1. Knocks me off my feet – Stevie Wonder
(Boyfriend Bob in HS sang this to me at his senior prom. Especially the words “… oh but I love you, I love you, I love you .. more and more” as he sang it looking right into my eyes. *sigh* Young love, eh?
2. Baby I love your way – the original Peter Frampton version
“I can see the sunset in your eyes, brown and grey and blue besides …” (Boyfriend Bob again)
3. Penny Lover / Lionel Richie
Reminds me of some moron I talked to on the phone for over a month before he came in from NJ to visit. Apparently, he decided I was a hideous beast and couldn’t run back to NJ fast enough, never to be heard from again.
4. Ghost – The Indigo Girls
Oh Hollinger, I sure do miss you. This one is always and forever your song. “And I feel it like a sickness how this love is killing me. But I’d walk into the fingers of your fire willingly. And dance the edge of sanity, I’ve never been this close. I’m in love with your ghost …” (*1)
5. Ants Marching – Dave Matthews Band
Weezle, you know this one is all yours. “Take these chances, place them in a box until a quieter time …”
6-9. In the End / Linkin Park, Wish you were here / Incubus, Your body is a wonderland / John Mayer & Here is Gone / Goo Goo Dolls
These belong to one of the three people* in my life who will always be inextricably tied to particular songs. He knows who he is. I will be 90, hear any of these songs and go right back to that time in my life. (*2)
10. and 11. Annie Mae and TJHTBS / TWS
Only I know why and I’m not divulging that info. :) (*3)
12. “Here and Now” / Luther Vandross – My wedding song with Duty.
13. “Float on” / Modest Mouse
This one, always always always belongs to Lauren. They played it during the Relay for Life walk and Duty and I walked the circle singing it together. (yes, I was crying so just shut up! heh)
Hmmm I don’t see my comment, so I am trying again. Sorry if it posts twice. I also did music today in my T13. The soundtrack of my life.
