OY! See, kids? Let this be a lesson to you. If you are used to doing not so much in your day-to-day life, then when you get a few days where there’s a lot going on, well, it damn near kills ya! But most of it was fun, I will say.

Friday I babysat Miss Emma for three hours and we did have fun. I love her so much I could squeeze her to death (but I don’t). We played Minesweeper (her idea), watched “SpyKids”, petted the cats, fed the birdies, ate popcorn, played some goofy Clifford “puhcuter” game and cleaned the pool. Then I had to race off to my appointment with Regina and after that, I did a Reiki session on her (part of the requisites to complete my training). Whew! I was pooped by the time I got home.

On Saturday, we went on an impromptu trip to Chincoteague, VA to hang out with the in-laws at their place in a campground. It was near the water so we got to go jet skiing (fun but scary when Duty revved it up to HIGH and I about passed out from fear), eat some yummy crabs and see the ponies and other wildlife at Assateague. And ice cream after? MMMMM It was fun but lots of activity for this “used to being alone in silence” chick. Plus, the place was small and there were SEVEN people there with attendant noise and hilarity and loud tv. Worst part? No place for me to escape with my tender ears. But we had fun and did something different so that was cool.

Sunday, up at 630 am to drive to Harrington for breakfast with Duty’s dad. Then home. Shower. Go purchase some items for the mother. Drive to Baltimore. Spend 3 hours or so with the mother (which wasn’t that bad and we actually had a CIVIL discussion about politics. I encouraged her to watch Keith Olbermann for a more balanced view of what’s going on) and then drove home. Once home, Miss Emma, NG and Duty all went swimming and I sat outside in the fading light watching them and laughing at MissyEmma in the water. She almost always has a smile on her face and we have to remind her to stop smiling so much when she’s in the water because she gets water in her mouth (which is almost always moving or smiling). She is too cute and my heart just swells when I see her. And finally, some quiet time for me to surf and stuff.

It’s back to normal today and I am sitting in the quiet of my sunroom watching the birds and squirrels and doing laundry. I do love my life! :)
