Blog-A-Thon 2K6 Hour 11.5

Along with Eddie Izzard (who I spotlighted back 10 hours ago), David Sedaris is one of my favorites. I happened upon one of his books by chance and just loved his very dry, very very snarky writing style. He tours and does book readings and once I heard his very distinct voice, I was hooked. In fact, I think I’d rather listen to DS than read him just because he brings his words to life in a most unique way. Given his quirky take on things, I had to introduce him to Lauren and wouldn’t you know it? She grew to love him too. DUH, right? I think having someone really “get” my odd sense of humor (instead of laughing politely at it) is one of the things I miss most about my relationship with her.

YouTube (and bless its heart, too) had just one DS video but it’s a good one. Presented for your listening enjoyment below is David Sedaris.

Of course David Sedaris is the best! We’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live and laughing to his deadpan. I found him on NPR’s This American Life.

Check out Sarah Vowell if you haven’t met her yet. She is as funny as David Sedaris, or sort of.
