Probably over 20 years ago, Rich Aranow, a friend of his parents Martin and Grace, who lived in Westbury, came to see me for advice in obtaining interviews with law firms in NYC where he hoped to work as a real estate or corporate lawyer. He had recently graduated or was about to graduate from the University of Texas Law School in Austin, the most prestigious of law schools in Texas and ranked among the highest nationally. We had in common that we had received our bachelor degrees from Columbia College in NYC. I was then a partner in a national law firm in NYC, maybe twenty or more years senior to Rich. I told him it was late in the year to write letters for interviews from such firms, which had largely already hired their first year class, but that NYC had a most distinguished law office, at which some of the best lawyers start their practices, that is, the Law Department of the City of New York, also called the Corporation Counsel's Office. I told him that this office was often the proving ground of many New York lawyers, including some of my partners and associates of my law firm. Since Rich had already conducted a real estate leasing business running a private student dorm in Austin, I thought this would give him a leg-up on a job as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for NYC. He took my advice and got that job, which years later led him to the position of Deputy Chief for the Port Authority of the States of New York and New Jersey, a similar organization with many of the brightest lawyers in NYC.

I knew Rich and he is very much in my thoughts today and, I'm sure, in the thoughts of all who knew him. He was a good man. Thanks for doing this Lisa.

Lisa this was so touching particularly as I have specialized in autism in my work for seven years. I hope somehow this little boy benefits from all the people that send his family love today. I am among them. Thank you for this.
