And so I trudged back to the working world of brokers and new account forms and JTWROS (inside joke - will ’splain below). The drive in (about 45 mins all told) listening to Elliott was familiar. The drive home listening to Don & Mike also familiar. I’ve been given lots of good stuff in this particular job, not the least of which is that the dude I am working with (aka: my supervisor) is a dude I knew from back in my Hollinger days (circa 1992ish). We always got along fine. He used to call me “Lee” which he seems to think is short for Lisa. LOL Anyway, he is the main reason I agreed to take the job. I had a good relationship with him and knew I could be myself. That’s pretty important to me. I told him in the interview that I cannot stand to be constricted or restricted. Just teach me the stuff and let me go. He was all for that. So, we are traveling along the same wavelength.
So the day went well, my internet access isn’t restricted (but I am, of course, being ultra prudent about it) and I think it might turn out to be a good thing for the next year. Don’t hold me to that but as the saying goes “as a man thinketh, so shall he be”. I thinketh it shall be fine. And so it is.
(Laugh of the day about JTWROS. It’s a financial acronym which stands for Joint Tenants with rights of survivorship meaning if you and your spouse have a joint account and one of you dies, the other gets all the stuff. My first job in a brokerage firm, I had no clue about JTWROS and what it meant. I was stuffing trade confirmations in envelopes and kept thinking “Who is this family with this unpronounceable last name? How do you say it? Jitrose? JitWoes?” It puzzled me for a week (I was strange then and am just as strange now!) until one day I heard the term “Joint tenants with rights of survivorship” and the lightbulb above my head went DING!!!! LOL So, I always told that story to anyone I trained so they’d feel better about being inundated with all the acronyms.)
Tomorrow is preparation for Thursday 13! I’ve got my topic, but I better start getting it all down now. Kellygirl, got your thinking cap on??

Welcome back to the world of the working dead
Hopefully it will just be a branch in your path. But $$ ain’t too shabby either. Life goes on here in VA, scool started, Max turned 13 (AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGG!!!!!! I am so not old enough to have a teenager!!!) and Catie graduated to a bigger horse at riding. I get a new boss on 9/25, #5 in the almost 6 years that I have been here. But…..HOCKEY STARTS IN 22 DAYS…HOCKEY STARTS IN 22 DAYS…I GO TO MY 1ST GAME IN 24 DAYS…

Okay, the term JitWoes has me reaching for the Summer’s Eve box in an extreme effort to clean out our joint bank account. I never thought accounting could be so… oh never me mind. =O) At a loss for my 13 this week. Thinkin’ on doing a list on Sniffs.
