Yep, here it is 3:56am and I’m blogging. Am I pitiful or what? After getting word from the hospice nurse that things were moving quickly for mom, my wonderful family (and newly added relative Regina! heh) gathered at mom’s bedside to give her love and comfort and wubbies. Duty soothed her forehead and temple until his arm wore out but she was clearly loving it so much, he didn’t want to stop. For a while, it seemed to be the only thing that made her less agitated. Her lungs are almost completely full and breathing is rough. The hospice nurse ordered morphine but it took a near act of God to get it to the place. Durn. But once she got some, she was able to relax and rest.
So, we all sat by her bed keeping her company and loving on her. As I write this, she’s still with us. I don’t know what tomorrow (later today?) will bring but she seems at peace and that’s all I can ask for.
Thanks BIG BIG BIG time to the cousins ‘o Love, Cool and Flair and Donna (who needs a Cousin ‘O Something name!) and their families for coming in to share this time with us. I know mom really appreciated it more than she could communicate to you by a look. Godmommy gets a big ass shout out for love and hugs and words of encouragement.
Duty was stellar, as y’all knew he would be. He’s my hero. Truly.
More as things develop. Please continue to keep Mom in your prayers for a peaceful transition. And I love all of you for your words of support. (Hugs and extra love to Hockey Kim)
Nite Nite
Oh Honey, I am so sorry. Continued prayers coming your way. She is lucky to be surrounded by her family. Love You!
