Last week I was posed the question of whether I really and truly trusted in the wisdom of the Universe/Creator. I did and do but YIKES to hell and back, chil’ren!
So, here’s the 411: I am leaving Friday night for a much needed, sentimentally tinged trip to Italy with the Cousin ‘O Love. Mind you, this is my first vacation in about 8 months, mmmkay? I get word today that our office is being audited by the NASD auditors (ie: the big guys for compliance in the investment industry) sometime possibly in the next two weeks. OH. MY. GOD. As if I don’t have enough things to worry about this last week before I’m gone, now this.
Okay, okay, okay. It will all be fine. [breathe, Lisa] I just hate that it could happen while I’m gone. Of all the times, it has to be now?? Uni, what are you doing to me???

(PS: It doesn’t matter if I get fired. I’d be happy on some level so if it all goes to hell, my worrying about it won’t change it so I won’t. HA!)

Oh sunshine, we are so not cut from the same cloth on this one. Ive tried to get pregnant for every single audit we’ve had. Im excited for your trip and hope you shake this ickiness from your shoes before you get on that plane!

Can you not explain that you’re going to Italy and would be happy to do the audit this week or request a holiday-length delay? If you indicate you’re willing to do it now, surely they’d have no reason to assume you’re delaying for any sinister reason. I mean, they might say no, but wouldn’t hurt to ask, surely?

In the hospital lab business we are able to give black out days to prevent the unannounced inspection from occuring when say, the Lab Director is on vacation!
Everything happens for a reason - don’t sweat it. Your boss is the one who should be nervous - he has the ultimate responsibility for you being qualified, trained and educated to do your job correctly.

Remember to throw a coin in the Trevi fountain to guarantee a return trip to Italy!! Have a wonderful time (how could you not!?!?) I will be thinking about you and Mary although it will be with a tad bit of jealousy too - wish I were going too!
