A manatee = one of the bloggers I am monitoring during the ‘thon. I have about 20 sites that I go to and cheer them on by making witty comments (shut up. They are SO witty comments!) and the like.

Spotlight on:Blogging for Ferrets!

They are so cute and she has pictures and stories and all kinds of stuff. Did you know these ferret fun facts:

  • ferrets are actually the third most popular pet for Americans, right behind cats and dogs! Ferrets are known to have qualities of both cats and dogs! Ferrets are playful, like dogs; but love to snuggle like cats! There are an estimated eight to ten millions ferrets in the US being kept as pets!

Another fact is that ferrets are not rodents! They are from a family called Mustelidae, which includes weasles, mink, otters, and skunks!

All ferrets sold in pet stores are neutered and spayed, for two reasons. One, unaltered male ferrets tend to be more aggressive, and give off a rather unpleasant smell. And, two, female ferrets who are not spayed must be bred every season, or they will not survive! When a female ferret goes into heat, she will not come back out of heat until she is mated with. If they have not mated, they will die from anemia.

Ferrets can also be trained to use a litter box and to do tricks!

  • So go visit and give her some Snarky Ferret Love, kids!

(hears tumbleweeds rolling down the plains – anyone out there??)
