Marathon blogging is over for another year. We raised over $400 for ChemoAngels. Woo Hoo!
Thanks to all who came and stopped by and said hi, or emailed us or
called us at 3 in the morning (you know who you are!)
Interestingy enough, out of all the bloggers raising money for their
favorite charity, we were the only ones donating to Chemo Angels.
Hopefully, we were able to raise awareness of this organization. The
volunteers who comprise Chemo Angels do wonderful work. A handwritten
note of encouragement is usually just what a person undergoing
chemotherapy treatments needs to lift their spirits and get them through
another day.
There are other ways to donate to the organization. They refurbish old
cell phones, participate in the printer ink cartridge recycling and hold
fundraisers from time to time.
See below the fold for more information.
For now, that’s it from us …. see you next year???
Chemo Angels is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your financial contribution is completely tax deductible and certain to make a difference.
Cell Phone donation:
Here is How it Works
Support your favorite charity and help the environment… What a wonderful way to make a difference! Chemo Angels has teamed up with one of the nations largest Cell Phone recycle organizations. With over 70 million retired cell phones sitting idly in the U.S., it is essential that an effective solution to this environmental problem is found. The “3Rs” of waste reduction – recovery, reuse, and refining – are three important steps towards the reduction of wireless waste around the world.
All you need to do is send your old cellular phone in a bubble mailer to:
Chemo Angels
P.O. Box 1971
Julian, CA 92036
We accept any make or model. We send all received phones to Shelter Alliance where your phone will be recycled and, depending on the make and model of the phone, between 50 cents and $40.00 will benefit the cause of Chemo Angels.
Toner Cartridge:
For every ink or laser toner cartridge that is recycled, two quarts of oil are kept out of landfills.
he number of ink and laser toner cartridges thrown away in one year is enough to circle the earth.
It takes 1,000 years for an ink or laser toner cartridge to decompose in a landfill.
Recycling ink or laser toner cartridges helps to decrease the amount of waste that goes into landfills and helps reduce the amount of toxic chemicals absorbed into the earth.
bullet For every ink or laser toner cartridge sent to Chemo Angels we receive a small redemption.
Here is How it Works
All you need to do is send your empty ink and toner cartridges in a bubble mailer to:
Chemo Angels
P.O. Box 1971
Julian, CA 92036
We accept any make or model. This is also a great way to get your entire family involved in making a difference. Have your kids collect cartridges at school, pass the word to friends and relatives.
So sorry I missed all the fun – just got back into the country this morning. Congrats on completing the ‘thon!
Congrats on an incredible Blogathon. You did great, and it was an honor to monitor you.
