Last night, John Edwards gave a brief rebuttal to the latest in a series of speeches given by Mr. Bush. It ran under 2 minutes and I have linked the YouTube video below. I encourage you to take a look.
Here’s a snippet of what he said and I support him, without reservation. He’s the only candidate I can say that about. Not Hillary, not Obama and of course, certainly not one Republican candidate.

In January, after years of evidence that military actions cannot force a political solution, the president announced a military surge to force a political solution. In May, he vetoed a plan to end the war, demanded more time to show the surge could work, and Congress gave it to him. Now, after General Petraeus reports the surge has produced no progress toward a political solution, what does the president want? More time for the surge to work, when we know it won’t.
Our troops are stuck between a president without a plan to succeed and a Congress without the courage to bring them home.
But Congress must answer to the American people. Tell Congress you know the truth – they have the power to end this war and you expect them to use it. When the president asks for more money and more time, Congress needs to tell him he only gets one choice: a firm timeline for withdrawal.
No timeline, no funding. No excuses.
It is time to end this war.

I am not suporting anyone yet. Oprah has after all these years said who she supports: Obama. Interesting.
Sometimes I like Edwards and sometimes not. Really, I am already sick of the election. Only because I get so fired up about it and it is not healthy.

I have to agree with you. I’ve been loving the Edwards since the last election. And they just seem to be getting more real and lovable every time I see them.
Ok let me preface this by admitting I KNOW this is no way to choose a president but edwards…well…he creeps me out. He just reminds me of the bad political candidate who turns out to be a clone or a killer involved in some high-level conspiracy. I agree with this speech, but can he back it up? Im open though buddy. Convince me!
I’ve given John Edwards $150 so far. He’s my current favorite, marginally, in the pack. I could vote for any of them, actually, but John needs the money more than some.
