Rainy Wednesday

Hey y’all … thanks for the birthday wishes and love! I got a couple surprises and some nice gifties and lots of cake! MMMM! What more could one ask for, hey?

A big ass thanks to Hockey Kim for her guest blogging while I was in absentia. (btw, did you know the word is not absTentia? And here I was running around using it incorrectly. GAH!) Apparently, the blog bug has bitten her now so maybe we can look for her formal blog debut soon?? :)

Re-entry back at ye olde place of employ was smooth – certainly NOT like the one from Italy where I felt like I had been drop kicked from one end of a football field to another. That was so not fun. So, I appreciated the peaceful return more than ever.

Anyway, back into the swing of things. Anyone out there watching Dexter? I don’t have Showtime but have been downloading the videos from Amazon and watching the first season. Michael C. Hall, who was awesome on Six Feet Under, does an amazing job with this character. I haven’t read the books yet but hear that the show closely parallels the books (so unusual these days) and the readers are very pleased with how it’s playing out. I have the first book on reserve at the library. It’s not a show for the squeamish but it is worth watching just for the character study if you dig learning about serial killers, as I do.

Dexter

Our regional supervisor came to visit our office today and he’s as hardcore into politics as I am. It was fun trading ideas and thoughts with him (yes, we really should have been working, I know) and I liked having someone who was conversant with the same stuff I was. Amazingly, he’s a reformed Repug who said he woke up one day and realized what was going on with this lovely administration and started doing some reading and checking around. He’s an interesting and fun dude. (Shout out to ya if you happen to read this!)

Okay, off to watch another ep of Dexter. I love the sound of the rain … got my coffee, kitties, rain and my laptop. I need little else.
