When none of it matters

March 9, 2008 Written by Lisa

A friend and I have been reading lots of info lately about how the whole political process is a sham and that things are pre-determined for us. (Sadly, it’s my gut feeling this is too true.) And we pondered what to do in the face of this: How do we, as awakened ones, move forward? A comment on DemocraticUnderground by OhioBlues helped bring clarity to it:

The bottom line: we just live our lives and try to serve in whatever way possible while continuing to learn the best way to do that while still being human. :)

Good point, that. It’s what I try to do and will continue to try to do each day. “Serve in whatever way possible” – I like that.

To the other point, though, of the political farce now being perpetrated upon us: we are “allowed” to believe that we have a choice in who the candidates are, who our president will be but as I understand it, the truth is that it is all determined for us and this is all show. We have no way of knowing what goes on in ‘the back rooms’ of politics but of this I am sure: it’s not something done in the best interest of the American people. I cannot stand the whole “Obama will save us. He is a god.” thing going on. Talk of people fainting at his speeches? Puh-lease. And Hillary? Welcome to Bush in a dress pantsuit. Both of them (Hillary and Bill) are political animals who hunger for power. But beyond these two candidates, the entire political process is all a show. Delegates, Super-delegates, blah blah blah. We are going to get who “they” determine we get to serve “their” interests. They = the ones who run things for their own selfish interests ($$$, power, control …. etc.). Politicians, by and large, are bought and sold. Look at how Pelosi and Reid have kept SILENT over the FISA issue and waterboarding and on and on. Because they serve a totally different master than the ones they were elected to serve.

I could go on and on and ON about this but I will leave this here. I don’t want to discourage anyone from thinking their vote matters but for me, I’ve seen that it doesn’t. I would encourage anyone reading this to learn more about what’s really going on where we cannot see it (unless you pull back the curtain and it’s really gross back there, trust me.). You can laugh and call me a hideous conspiracy theorist if you like but I have to go with my gut intuition on this one. What I’ve read and heard turned me off to any interest in politics a while ago. And now, I try to focus on “serving (humanity) in the best way possible” with what I am given to do so. Because, as Mrs. Tool-Time is wont to say “It is what it is.”

human nature is something interesting. when we take a step back and look at our culture, it in itself is very poloraizing. our every day life is very political in our culture.

with that culture there is leadership which creates ideas and trends, technology, entertainment.

but i can ask a classic question that is an oldy but a goody, is it the person that makes the job or the job that makes the person? or even the question of does that person over there live their life or is it lived for them?

choice… very simple… we all have a right to choice, our actions define our choices… is our choice to give in, be a part of something… are you a shaker and a mover? what do those choices define… character… personnality… principals… beliefs… the definition to their characteristics? what defines those personnalities and characteristics? their own choice?….

does the end justify the means or do the means justify the end?

    Hi Lisa,

This is probably true, on some level, but we can each only do what we can do and are here to do. Bush was born to be part of the karmic group that he is a part of, and on a grander level, we are all part of the evolution of humanity. On a certain level, he served his “role” or part in this, and the rest of us are also serving our own roles and parts.

Politics is not the only industry motivated by green and power. It is not politics that is the problem, it is the more basic desire of human nature that are driven by greed, power, money, etc. My own industry of medicine is not primarily driven by a desire for healing or service either – you know this from watching Michael Moore’s movies, Lisa. There is a degree of “conspiracy” theory in the pharmaceutical and medical industries as well.

But we each gotta do what we need to do in order to live and to play our parts.

And, hey, if this motivates you to serve on your City Council or do something at the local or even state level, more power to ya!!
