How come all my good blogging ideas come to me while I am driving in the car? How come I forget them by the time I sit down to write? This, friends, is why you end up with more LOLcat pics than one blog should have most of the time.
Let’s see what I can dredge up, though.
The THIS:
Words you never want to hear: “I’ve got your computer in parts spread across my dining room table. Hope you didn’t have anything important on there.” Scary, hey? I’ve been having problems with the adapter plug on the back of my laptop (as Dell laptops are wont to do, apparently) and mentioned it in an offhand manner to neighbor Greg. He says he will take a look at it. Next thing you know, I get that message on my cell phone and cry softly. Only my whole freaking life is on this computer (along with more than I want to divulge about my David Cook arm porn fascination) but you know, whatever, right? Braving my fear of the unknown, I call him back. It’s all good. He cleaned the fan and took off almost enough cat hair to make a new cat (so he says) and added some stabilizer thing to the back so the cord fits into the slot nicely. Bless his heart (and I mean that with the utmost sincerity). Whew. However, it reminds me that I do need to get this thing backed up onto another drive just in case so I don’t lose all my David Cook pictures important stuff.
The THAT:
It’s getting ugly out there: Those in the Woo-Woo world have been speaking about how this nation (nay, world, really) will be called upon to move to a higher vibration, a different level of consciousness. We can see that being played out most vividly as we trudge toward another election. It feels to me the choices are – stay with what is or move toward what can be.
McCain (who looks to me like he’s gonna fall apart any moment now. “My fellow prisoners” Beg your pardon?) has nothing new to bring to the table. Same ideas and cronies as Bush/Cheney. And I truly believe it was NOT his choice picking Palin. That was forced upon him by those who pull the strings (coughcheney/rovecough). Above and beyond that they clearly don’t know what they are doing in any arena, but that they’ve chosen (as we all knew they would) to tap into the collective unconscious regarding racial issues and fear of “the other” is just sad. Look at how divisive it is. The struggle to change is not easy and this one will be particularly difficult. Power is (paraphrasing the late Rick James) “a helluva drug”.
The OTHER:
Reflexology with Rixie is heavenly. I got a half hour of foot soaking for detox, chit chat about woo-woo stuff, meeting someone who has “David Cook energy” and the current political scene and then awesome foot rubs with essential oil sniffy goodness. If you live in the Northern VA area or are within driving distance, I really recommend an hour with Miss Rixie. I actually did a little happy dance as I was leaving because I felt so good. When my feets are happy, I’m happy. (Chit chat about woo-woo, cookies and political stuff are optional!)
I think that was all that was in my head (for now).

…the whole drive to work thing is where the crazy (different way of saying fun) ideas happen… yeah i totally relate, i am not diong the 3 hour thing in the morning anymore its like maybe 10 mins on a cloudy day (people slow down for some reason i dont get it…j/k)…. the 3 hour thing tons of ideas sitting there bored in the car… the 10 mins thing i am just hoping someone has coffee made by the time i get in to the office (as i am still rubbing my eyes waking up)… so my question is having the crazy ideas w/ the drive in the morning assist w/ the more fun (possibly productive) day at hand, or just hoping to be awake by the time the shoes take a look at the door to the office opening…???…???…
(p.s.~~ look out for the nerf darts flying around in the morning when walking in to the office… for some reason we never trully grow up)
Hey, just wondering… do you have a Twitter account? =D
While I can’t imagine a scenario where I’d ever vote for John McCain, there was much about this man I admired. Past tense. The way he’s chosen to run his campaign is so sad.
The Reflexology sounds heavenly!
