I had promised that I would write a little about the 12 days on the cleanse now that I’ve had some time and distance from it so here you go.
I felt better in those twelve days than I have in quite a long time. Free from the worry of what to eat, was it something “bad”, should I feel guilty blah blah blah cakes, I was able to feel an internal quiet that brought me a great deal of peace. I miss that feeling already. In fact, I was so terrified of making bad (there’s that word again) food choices that I stayed on the cleanse an extra couple days. I know that beginning to make those choices for me is part of ‘the work’ that I am to do this year and I am doing my very best to be mindful of that.
A very astute gentleman on the YLCleansers.com board by the name of Daniel wrote this about his cleansing experiences and I reprint this snippet here with his permission:
This is a roller coaster you have climbed aboard, and so you will have very difficult times when you think you aren’t making any progress, and then all of a sudden out of nowhere you will have a big breakthrough that shows the progress you are making, or a burst of energy, or sudden clarity about some aspect of your life. Your face will probably break out as it expels toxins from your body, you might get bad breath, flaky skin, etc.–but then all of a sudden those toxins will be gone and your body will start focusing somewhere else. Most of the time, you will have no idea what is happening while your body repairs problems you didn’t know existed and hopefully won’t even have to find out about. You may start a cleanse with one particular goal in mind and be frustrated during the cleanse thinking your goals aren’t getting any closer, but after a while you will see that progress is happening either on your original goal or on a different area that had to come first or was more important.
Cleansing is am extremely personal and sacred journey. People around you most likely will have no comprehension of what it is you are doing, or the importance of it. They may even belittle what you are doing or ask if you have spoken to your doctor about it–as if doctors are gods that know better than your own higher self, what you know in your gut, etc. As you cleanse, you thank your physical body for it’s service processing all those foods that tasted so good, and give it an opportunity to heal itself from any bad ingredients in those foods, toxins in the environment all around you, in the water, in the various products that contact your body, toxic thoughts and emotions…
A sacred journey indeed. Much of the learning, however, seems to have come after I went back to eating solid food. I found it was more of an emotional cleanse going on as I released the hold sugar had on my body and emotions. I chose not to eat those things that had served as my comfort foods and to face issues in my life without that security blanket that had been with me for much of my life. And in a very minute way, I began to understand more of the struggle that addicts go through as they face their issues without numbing out.
One of my very dear friends is a beautiful channel for my guides and she shared this with me earlier this month (January) and it was what has been uppermost in my thoughts as I undertook this challenge.
You have much to offer others. You have much more coming to you that will only enhance the work that you do. As you wait, work on those things that you know you should (and you know what they are because we have told you and told you and told you.) Get what you know you should do out of the way so that you will be ready and available when it is time for you to “step it up” to the next level.
Know that we love you. Know that what we say is for your highest good and purpose. We know that you do not always want to hear these things. We know that you want to go from A to Z and bypass B-Y. It doesn’t work that way even with Spirit! (humor and laugh)
We honor you, and we honor your work. We honor your choices. There is no intent to criticize here only a loving message. Did you ever think that maybe by doing the B-Y stuff, Z would come along surprisingly fast? A thought for your meditation closet.
Know that we love you. Know that we are with you to support you. Know that we will help you do B-Y so you can get to Z. Know that you have friends that will also support you in getting B-Y DONE!!! Use them. Ask. Each is on his/her own spiritual journey, but part of that journey is helping others. That is how we all move forward.
Learning not to zip right from A-Z has been a big lesson for me in my adult life. This cleanse and the aftermath of it starts my work with B-Y. It’s tough work but it’s going to be worth it and I know I will be ready when the time comes for me to step into the next higher vibration.
And yes, I am not only doing another cleanse in March but am working diligently to completely change the foods I eat and how I nourish my body. Big work for sure. But it’s what’s been given to me to do and I honor that. (I may grump about it from time to time but I honor it!)
More on this as I continue doing ‘the work’. :)
