… outside of one bright (and way-too-fun) spot these days, things are pretty quiet on the snark-front. Which is okay, I suppose. For now.
Hey, here’s a song I like: “Come on get higher” by Matt Nathanson – y’all know it? In the morning, instead of listening to Eliot go on and on about some stupid sports event, I listen to Music on Demand on tv. I’ve found some pretty good songs that way (ex: OAR’s “Shattered” and some cool new Bob Dylan even) and this was one of them. It’s really quite catchy. I watched the video for it and he sorta reminds me of John Mayer (but in a good way since JM can be kind of … um, odd? Plus, he’s got that cleft chin dimple thing going on and that reminds me of Colin Firth in “Bridget Jones’s Diary” (sigh … Mark Darcy … sigh)
Video and lyrics below the fold. At least it’s not a cat picture, hey?? :)
Come on get higher
(sending out a LDD on this one)
I miss the sound of your voice
I miss the rush of your skin
I miss the still of the silence
as you breathe out and I breathe in
if I could walk on water
if i could tell you what’s next
make you believe
make you forget
come on get higher
loosen my lips
faith and desire
and the swing of your hips
just pull me down hard
and drown me in love
come on get higher
loosen my lips
faith and desire
and the swing of your hips
just pull me down hard
and drown me in love
I miss the sound of your voice
the loudest thing in my head
and I ache to remember
all the violent, sweet, perfect words that you said
if I could walk on water
if I could tell you what’s next
make you believe
make you forget
come on get higher
loosen my lips
faith and desire
and the swing of your hips
just pull me down hard
and drown me in love
come on get higher
loosen my lips
faith and desire
and the swing of your hips
just pull me down hard
and drown me in love
I feel the pull of your heart
I taste the sparks on your tongue
I see angels and devils and god when you come on
hold on…
come on get higher
loosen my lips
faith and desire
and the swing of your hips
just pull me down hard
and drown me in love
it’s all wrong
it’s all wrong
it’s all wrong, its so right
come on get higher
come on and get higher
because everything works love
because everything works in your arms
I love this song! It’s one of my “happy songs” that when it comes up on random on the iPod in the car, I have to turn it up & sing along loudly (thank God no one can hear me) and I am instantly in a good mood. Now it’s stuck in my head, which is actually not a bad thing. :D
Colin Firth? Did someone say Colin Firth? I looove him. He was in the terrific TV production of Pride & Prejudice and played a character named Darcy then, too. He is forever more Darcy in my heart …
I love this song!!! Sugerland does a version of it too that I like a lot!
