Dear Three of you,
Next time I come up with a cockamamie idea like walking three miles in the POURING rain when I doubt I’ve walked three miles (at one time) in my life, slap me, k? I’m counting on you. It’s either that or become a fan of someone less demanding than David Cook! heheh (NOT a chance, buster!)
It was great to see my concert buddies again (plus my AI tour friend Sandy) and join in the walk (9000 people, yo!) for a great cause. Yep, it’s one near and dear to Cook’s heart and props to the Team David Cook for raising the most money of any team in the race.
David was there, of course, and I’m glad someone videotaped his speech because he shared a bit of personal news with us – his brother Adam passed away last night from a 10 year bout with brain cancer. He got choked up when he said it and yet recovered and handled it all really well. (See the short video of his speech below.)
Like I said before, he’s a great guy and I’m proud to be one of his (many, many) fans.
Confession time — I am NOT playing that embedded clip. I get it, I hear you, it’s a sad and intense and emotional time for David and his Cookies. I don’t have to watch him experience it. I’m glad that you found it all touching and satisfying and that you were able to share it with others who understand. But I remember how sweet David was on Idol last year, discussing the inspirational kid who gave him one of his bracelets. That’s enough for me, thanks!
