Cat Lady

This picture just made me smile because I suspect it will be me many (many!) years down the road. Oh hell, who am I kidding? It’s me now! LOL I will always have a cat, of that I am sure. Whether I will go the route of four at one time again, I can’t say. Doubtful. I think two is the new four for me. I can’t believe I carted those cats around from apartment to apartment to house. They handled it beautifully.

Whenever I moved, I’d take MommyCat and Lucie first to “okay” the place. Then I’d bring my two timid ones, Murphy and The Midjull along. When Mommy passed away in 2004, Lucie became the official lead cat. So it’s not surprising that she’s the last of the original four still with me after 17 years. She’s doing really well on her insulin shots, gaining a bit of weight and I can tell she’s feeling better. And while she and SophiaCat still have a ways to go to acclimate to each other, I think this will be successful. And it’s really nice having Sophia down here with us in the evenings.

So yeah. I’m a Cat Lady. The crazy part? I’m working on that!

  1. Maybe it’s because I have feline roommates, too, but I love these posts. I love how the cats establish their own pecking order, their own ways of dealing with us and one another and the rest of the world. I admire them.
