He stopped Lee Harvey Oswald from going to work that day, which meant LHO was denied his sniper's perch. JFK made it through the motorcade to the convention center and gave his speech and went back to Washington. Viet Nam is a less toxic drain on us, Watergate never happens, and both Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King live to be old men. And we all live happily ever after, right? Wrong. There are tsunamis and earth quakes and a horrific brush fires. The whole world erupts. JFK realizes that the universe needed, demanded, the seismic tumult that came with his murder. So he asks the time traveler to undo what he did and go back to the future. Sometimes things need to play themselves out. Is that kinda what you're talking about?
