So, yeah. Right before I left, the Universe decided that a doggie named Raine needed a good home and we were, in fact, that home. While I was in Charlottesville, Duty took possession of her and that is as it should be because she’s really for him. I can’t explain how I know it but it’s true. It’s so true that even he admits it. She found him. (And he needs her.)
The reason we call her the PDOL is that Raine had an eye infection and lost her eye to it several years ago. Her official name in the family is “Winky, Pirate Dog of Love” but that takes too long to say so we’ll call her Raine for now. heh
Acclimation is going well so far – the cats are now downstairs but very wary of this big doggie who doesn’t quite look like Max. Max is pretty chill about it all and as long as he gets to sleep, is given various and sundry treats and lovins and pettins, he’s fine with whatever happens.
There’s lots to tell about the weekend workshop but I can’t quite get it into words the way I want to do it justice. It will come, though. We had a great time and met some great people. Remind me to tell you all about Gabriel, the 11 year old son of the guy who gave the training. He made my weekend and helped my inner 12 year old know it’s okay to be free. (More later)
Everything about this post makes me sooooo happy!
