This one just came together perfectly – called “Size 10 tears” and it’s all about giving away clothes and letting go of a dream.
I also talk about Bindu Wiles and her project called “The Shed Project” Â – she’s ambitious – giving away *ALL* but 100 things. Â I would have to kill myself if I tried that. It was hard enough letting go of clothes that I don’t even wear!
If you’re interested in learning more about The Shed Project, you can check it out right here. Â You can follow along with me on ye olde Snarkypants as well as PI (different tones – here I get to whine a bit more.)
I think I will also photograph some of it (which reminds me that I should do a picture of my closet with all the empty hangers, right?) just for kicks.
Do you have a Carson's (or Bergner's or Bon-Ton) near you? Starting tomorrow, and through the end of the month, you can drop off gently worn clothes and linens in exchange for store coupons. It seems like a positive way to send your old clothes off to someone who can use them, and to buy yourself something appropriate for this stage in your life. All good.
You know, Clinton Kelly from WNTW says that getting rid of the clothes don't fit make you look *better* because when putting together an outfit, you can focus on what will work because what won't work just isn't there. So maybe it's less giving up a dream than concentrating on the here and now.
