Why am I excited about a day off that’s to be spent cleaning? Well, for one thing, it’s a *day off* so there’s that. Also too: Kim (my wonderful friend and de-clutterer pal) is coming over to help.
And when I say “help”, I mean “do most of the work” because that’s just what she does. Who am I to argue, eh?
Best of all: after we’re done, we’re going for Cosmocellos! I can’t wait. (for the drinks, not the cleaning)
Sunday is our annual July 4th(ish) Throwdown and while I enjoy having people over (not so much, truth be told), it’s a lot of work getting the house in a place where I don’t have to hide from embarrassment. (We live a very cluttered life. Well, I do but Duty isn’t happy about it. His space is relatively uncluttered.)
Last year, I had a cold and passed out mid-way through the party from overwhelm and tiredness. I only wish I were exaggerating for effect but nope. I did pass out. This time, though, I have bookend days – today is cleaning and whatnot, tomorrow is other stuff and rest. Sunday is party, Monday is rest. I think I’ll survive. If I had a magic genie who cleaned and entertained, I’d like this party thing a whole lot more.
I saw your blog and said, “Hello, Gorgeous!” It’s so bright and open. I miss the visual of you on the swivel chair, but I realize that as you transition away from the straight workaday world to the “woo-woo world,” this is more fitting. Nicely done!
