I had a son, Daniel, born almost exactly as premature as your two (he also had a twin, but lost before birth). It was tough, of course, but he graduated from Yale, went on to a Master’s from Harvard, and is now a wonderful teacher. Hang on — it will get better. So thrilled they’re healthy!
Congratulations! And for the girls, welcome to the world! I don’t even know the family, but reading this post made me smile. (Remember that line from Gone with the Wind, “The happiest days are when babies come.”)

First out – Lynn (named after my grandmother a woman with guts and knew it) She is feisty and lets her need known to every one in the Nicu department. She is doing well, had a little medical procedure for her heart today to close a valve to the lungs – normal for preemies and considering the procedure is aspirin thee times in 24 hours – not too big of a deal. She was 2 pounds 15 oz and 15.5 inches long..
Second out Natasha, (named after the great grand mother of my husband) she was 3 pounds, 7 oz and 17 inches long. She had a great day and is now breathing on her own. Both were intubated in the beginning, but Lynn is down to cpap, and Natasha came off this morning.
They were only 30 weeks and five days, so they will be in nicu for a few weeks, and we go each day to spend time with them and give them my milk for feeding. My milk will help them faster than any thing out there, so I am doing everything I can… I have a bit of the blues, but hubby is watching over me, and I now know it is the separation. As apparently I smile more than ever when holding them against me… per hubby’s observations. Got out of the hospital monday, and tomorrow is one week.. Yes, it feels fast.
I am not able to get to the computer but once I can, will send pics!
Thanks for the lovely blog note, very special to me..
Love the names! So pretty and perfect. They can grow into the energy each name holds. And I’m glad to hear you’re doing well. I can imagine it’s hard to be separated from them so early on but use this time to take GOOD care of yourself. Get as much rest as you can. The babies are well cared for and you got a special time to recuperate on your own so use it for all it’s worth.
Love to see pics when you get them. HUGS to you and hubs and babies!
