As if those of you who know me couldn’t have guessed that, right?
It’s one of my dreams to live in a beautiful house where my office windows face the ocean. I can almost see the house in my mind’s eye. (The one to the right is a LOT bigger than I’d choose because bigger = more rooms to clean. And you know the deal about me and cleaning, amirite?) Still, it’s gorgeous, is it not?
I’ll get there, someday soon!
We had a lovely time at the beach wherein I spent the morning chasing a not-well-stuck-into-the-sand umbrella down to the water’s edge, there were no doggies to let in and out and IN and OUT, and lots of outlet shopping to be had. Coffee brought to me each morning at sunrise by the ever dutiful Duty and yummy meals out (bread pudding, I love you so!)
It was really the first vacation I’ve had in a long time where I could just relax. I planned on doing some PI stuff but just decided that I’d chill and save it until I got home. I had a wonderful time.
And it’s back to reality now but that’s okay. I was ready to come home (the place we stayed at was very beachy and not so luxurious (unless you consider a murphy bed the height of luxury! heh)).
Doggies were happy to see us but it was Sophie who has been my shadow since we got back. I think she thought we had gone for good and abandoned her. (NEVER!)
So yeah, a joyous post from yours truly. Don’t get used to it! (hahah)
Oh yeah, the house is nice from the outside :)
Of course poor Sophie thought you were gone for good. She can only know what nature and experience and the history of her species allow her to know, and that doesn’t include a trip to the beach. She probably thought you lost a heated battle with a squirrel or had been murdered by a diabolical veterinarian. And now, somehow, you’re back! It’s a miracle!
You do know that, if you lived at the beach, it would soon quit feeling special and would just start feeling like life. (And that would include housework!) My oldest friend has been unhappy for about 5 years now — the first two wasted by being certain that if she got out of dumb old Chicagoland (with our cold weather, flat terrain and short winter days) and for the past three years in LA (whining about the traffic and the aloof nature of the denizens). I’m very happy here in Chi but I ascribe to the Bible passage — “bloom where you’re planted.” I don’t think we’re happy because of where we are.
