Quit ignoring me, people!

November 26, 2007 Written by Lisa

Except for Jen (who gets a pass because I loves her!) – I’ll have you know that I am the OFFICIAL Deputy Chief of Goofiness over at the Ministry of Silly Blogs. And if you continue to ignore my royal highness, well, you will be in BIG trouble!! Yeah! So there.

If you want to know the story behind this Lost and Found ad, you’ll have to go here:

LOST
ONE PERFECTLY GOOD LIBIDO
Goes by the name “Kitty”. She is our pride and joy, is very playful, and needs to get vigorous exercise most every day. When you see her you will recognize her because you will inexplicably find yourself compelled to do all kinds of strange things to attract her attention.

(I really like her blog, btw! Might add a new daily read!)

(My libido has gone missing too. That daggone (official) menopause.)

And oh yeah – here’s your obligatory cat picture (I LOVE this one!)

… I had a post up – one of those little quiz thingys that indicated that of the seven deadly sins, I am leading in the sloth category (ha! Like I had to take a test to find that out!) but the table or whatever it was written in totally whacked out my layout. Besides being slothish, I am also somewhat HTML-impaired. Totally unable to fix any whackadoodleness that might happen to ye olde Snarkypants, I am. So, out the post went.

Nothing you didn’t know anyways, right?

Friday finishes the NaBloPoMo. It really hasn’t been hard for me to do a post each day – I’ve rather enjoyed it. But I think you all might prefer I just post every so often (or every day but with something of interest, perhaps?). We shall go back to blogging whenever the mood strikes us starting December 1.

WTF, people??

This totally boggles my mind:

At a Wal-Mart outside Nashville, the doors opened at 5 a.m. yesterday, with customers surrounding a wooden pallet piled high with $50 digital picture frames at the front of the store.

Worried that the frames would sell out, Cindy Chavez, 36, braced herself, yelped and tossed her body on top of the pile, much to her fellow shoppers’ horror. She emerged from the scrum with six frames.

I like “stuff” just as much (and to see my house, some would say MORE) than others but there is nothing that would make me wait a bizillion hours in line and then throw myself on a pile of whatever just to get some. Really. There is nothing out there that would lure me to stand in line at 4am in the hope of getting my hands on it. I dunno. Maybe if I had a kid and all they wanted was a Wii (whatever that is and the name just sounds goofy), I might but even then, I doubt it.

It may be my incredible hatred of crowds, chaos and general commotion that keeps me away but I’ve never been one for this kind of thing and, in fact, compels me to run the other way screaming like a banshee. Just UGH.

And speaking of things I wouldn’t do – let’s add this: sit through the movie “Knocked up” – OH. MY. GOD. I am just too old to find any of that humorous. I feel like a crotchety old lady saying this but it was just vulgar. (This, from a woman who watched “The Sopranos” religiously, even!) I’m glad I paid a mere 99 cents from Amazon for it because I spent 31 minutes watching it, was offended and horrified and realized I had better things to do with my time (like cleaning. And y’all know how I feel about cleaning!!). It was just plain god-awful!

Signed,
Well on her way to being a old lady with 10000 cats screaming “You kids get off my lawn”

Loose Change

I will elaborate more on this in another post but after watching this video, I feel the same way I did after seeing Fahrenheit 911 – just sort of overwhelmed. Because I respect and listen to my intuition, I know that things don’t happen in a vacuum. They just don’t. So, call me a conspiracy theorist or nutjob or whatever makes you happy but when my intuition screams as loudly as it did on 9-11, I pay attention. And if you look at how things have “neatly” played out in the years following this event, it becomes ever clearer. As its premise, the film looks at who stood to profit from this catastophe, who was connected to whom and how it all fit together just so neatly.

I think it’s so hard for honest, good people to wrap their head around the fact that others would instigate something on such a grand scheme like this, especially when it involves the loss of so many lives. For a look at what really goes on in the minds of those who can do heinous things like this (and torture, and on and on and on), look to their illustrious “leader”, Mr. Bush.
In his own words, taken from Whitehouse.gov:

THE PRESIDENT: It’s an interesting question. One of the problems — not specifically on this issue, just in general — let’s put it this way, money trumps peace, sometimes.

(emphasis mine)

In their world, money trumps EVERYTHING. It’s really the only thing for them (along with power). And so, with that in mind, watch the video. It’s well worth your time and may just open your eyes a bit. Comments and thoughts are welcome, even if just to tell me “Hogwash”! :)

A Simple Thank You

November 22, 2007 Written by Lisa

… to the Universe for always taking good care of me even through the hard lessons. My faith is unwavering and I am so thankful for having experienced Spirit, not just having read about it. The more I get out of my own way, the more the grace is allowed to shine through.

On this day, as every day, I give thanks to Mother-Father God for all blessings and lessons.

And I give thanks for all you who read along with me here on Snarkypants. You help make me feel like I’m not “blogging into the abyss”. :)
