I heard on the radio yesterday that normal temps for this time ‘o year are around 42. Today it is 17. As in 17 degrees. Not 42. 17. And yet, I do not wear a winter coat. I don’t do much walking around outside so that most likely accounts for it. Also, I don’t like either of my winter coats. I checked the ones on sale at Kohls yesterday and they are still a bit pricey for me.
What else is going on? Haven’t too much time for IMing during this job transition so forgive me if I haven’t been my usual chatty self. Until I get a sense of what my duties and timelines will be, it’s going to be spotty. But I’m looking forward to the challenge of nursing a department that has fallen into disrepair back to health.
[Yawns] I was here til midnight last night and back at 8:30am today. I wanted to get some more stuff done and since this is the last month I can get OT (going to salary), I’m putting in the hours. If they wanna pay me $40/hour to sit on my butt and wait for the phone to ring all day on Sunday for the month of February, who am I to argue? I do have to resist the “short timer” disease and not mouth off to customers (ha! I hear you laughing out there. What has stopped me before, you say). But I promise to be on good (well, mostly good) behavior from now on.
(And I do happen to have some land for sale once the tide goes out. Funny you should ask!!)
