The Friday Five (for your Sunday pleasure):
1. What do you most want to be remembered for?
Gee, that’s a tough one. I always wanted “Here lies Lisa. Damn! She was cool” as an epitaph so I guess it goes to follow that I would want to be remembered for that. But really – how lame is that, I ask you?? So, for real, I would want to be remembered as a tender-hearted chick who had compassion for others and always wanted to make things better (for herself and others).
2. What quotation best fits your outlook on life?
“Everything happens for a reason. Just believe.” And those who know me well know just how much stock I truly place in this philosophy.
3. What single achievement are you most proud of in the past year?
Oh hmm, how much of this to air in public? I guess to sum it up, I managed to pull myself back from the brink of a pretty wicked depression (yep, suicidal ideation, the whole deal) and keep moving forward to where I am today, feeling 180 degrees from that place. What is that saying? “The dark night of the soul” – that sums up my last year. But I made it into the warm sunshine and I’m VERY proud of myself for that. And from the bottom of my tender (no longer in a blender) heart, I thank those who were with me every step of the way. They know who they are. Couldn’t have done it without you guys. (/maudlin)
4. What about the past ten years?
Oh, I guess I would say making the decision to have gastric bypass surgery and going into that with a positive mind and gusto.
5. If you were asked to give a child a single piece of advice to guide them through life, what would you say?
See #2 above … I have long believed this and I have never seen anything that contradicts it. To the contrary, the older I get, the more I see that it is truer than true.
(This is the 2nd time I am doing this entry as I got spastic and forgot to save it and went to another page. JIKES!!! what a dumbass! I took that as a cue from the uni that I needed to not put some stuff in there I was hesitant to write anyway so poof it went!)
Hey! Six Feet Under season finale is on tonight! YEY and BOO (such a dichotomy!) This has been a very strange season … some really strong eps and some really weak ones too. All in all, though, it’s an excellent show. I will try to put in a choice quote from the show in my next entry.
Had a tete a tete with my buddy, Mark at Barnes & Noble – it was nice to see him in person! We’ve had a hard time coordinating schedules (uh, well, I think it’s been me who has been the problem …) but we managed it today!
Well, that’s it for now … I’m making a cd that does not contain “Babylon”. “Your body is a wonderland” or “Been awhile” –> should I consider that to be one of my major accomplishments for the past year?? hehe
Lisa, it was good to see you again! Thank you for all the sage advice and kind words … I stopped by the GNC and got two of those pills you mentioned. I tried one of the L-Tyrosine (I know you take two, but I’m cautious) but haven’t noticed an appreciable difference yet. Also bought a bottle of GABA for Terri and she agreed to try it some night when she is having a problem with the 100000 rpm mind that won’t quit. I also mentioned your diet doctor but she is a bit more skeptical about that.
Anyhow, regarding how you answered those questions, #1, you are certainly tender hearted and I am grateful to have you in my life. We got to see more of each other in real life!!
