Taking a cue from my Train/Twin, here’s the Friday five:
1. How many times have you truly been in love?
Truly? Hmm, twice, I think. Infatuation? Many times. Misplaced emotion? Oh, many many times. But love with my whole heart, from the depths of my soul? Twice.
2. What was/is so great about the person you love(d) the most?
He “got” me … (actually, the two I reference in #1 both had that in common) .. I didn’t have to explain or tell what I needed, they both just sort of knew. They were smart (really important!!), had a similar sense of humor (mine!), were cute as hell and just way cool.
3. What qualities should a significant other have?
See #2 … :) Ideally, I would love someone to be as (close to as possible) introspective as I am, committed to growing as a person, and be able to tolerate me, my family, my pets and my (somewhat interesting) mood swings.
4. Have you ever broken someone’s heart?
Yes, I have and no matter what side you are on (breaker or breakee) it sucks big time.
5. If there was one thing you could teach people about love, what would it be?
“With every goodbye, you learn”
Hey! I found a cool song on Launchcast (Yahoo’s internet radio dealie) – it’s by a band called “Feel” (ha! appropriate for me, eh?) and the song is called “Got your name on it”
Got your name on it
When the air comes in at night
It almost seems to call out your name
When it?s dark out, when it?s light
The seasons change
But your love remains
Chorus:
And there?s a blue sky
Got your name on it, got your name on it
And when the sun shines
Got your name on it, got your name on it
Even this heart of mine
Got your name on it, got your name on it
So I never will forget you
When the leaves fall past my knees
Reminds me that I can?t live without you
Something you are changes me
Into something I wanna be
Never could remember names
Always seem to forget a face
But if my memory of you should fade
All I gotta do is look up
Today we head up to Baltimore for Day 1 of Wedding Weekend! We have to pack up clothes, dog, wheelchair (for the mother), Corinthians reading, etc. to lug up there. Staying at the Sheraton because it’s just easier that way. Unlike Mary, we don’t have a whole passel of kids to attend to, so it’s better for us to just stay there. I have to admit that I am actually looking forward to it. It’s the last wedding from this tier of cousins (I can’t see “Shweet” Michele having a big ass wedding!) so it’s sort of a milestone. Next stop are Mary’s kids and Lora’s kids.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Pictures to be posted on Sunday/Monday/whenever I get around to it!
Have a good weekend, everyone!
