Every Wednesday those who are involved in a relationship with somebody share a few (simple but significant) reasons for their love. Please keep in mind that this does not have to be a romantic relationship. It can be about a parent, a sibling, a friend, a co-worker, your kid, your dog, whatever.
Reasons why I love my doggie Max:
1. He’s always up for ANYthing – go for a walk? COOL! Take a nap? Even better! He’s a great buddy dog.
2. He shows his joy by wagging his tail – even if he’s lying on the bed watching me get ready for work. If I say “Poots!” in a joyful way, he rewards me by wagging his tail. (maybe he thinks I am saying TREATS, hey?)
3. If Midjull is bugging me (by trying to lick my hair or the wall or some other mental thing), Max knows just the tone of voice I take when I’ve had it. He will stare Midgie down and then quick run after him, getting him out of the room. I always thank Max for that.
4. He tolerates all the other pets in the house – well, the cats were there before him, it’s true. But he endured Bailey living with us for a bit (and endure is the key word for ALL of us, bless Bailey’s puppy heart) and he tolerates the peegs pretty well. In fact, Max can tolerate almost anything (except no treats!)
How about “Why I hate my cat” Thursday?? :)
Anyway, no official word on the IM situation yet so I am happily chatting away when I have a few spare moments.
H and I start Atkins on Friday so all week I’ve been carb-grrl and I have to admit that I feel totally yucky. I can really tell the difference in how I feel when I eat crap vs. when I don’t. I don’t think I will have a whole lot of difficulty staying away from carbs these days since we’ve been weaning ourselves off them bit by bit over the past several months. DH is another story, however. But I have faith that once he (and I) see some significant results from it, we will feel much better about it. I just keep telling myself that this doesn’t mean NO bread forever … just all things in moderation. I will be fine (and slim, too, right?)
That’s all the haps here … happy hump day!
Peace/Out
Max is a great dog. Even I like him, and I’m not a dog person!
I was on the Atkins diet and I liked it. But I started the Carbohydrate Addicts diet (Oprah had it on) and I like it much better. It teaches you how to control your carbs and you get a lot more fiber.
BTW – I really like your blog!
Yay Max!! And yay Atkins! Make sure you still get plenty of fiber, though; don’t know how allowed that is in Atkins, but your health will be tons better for it, since it flushes out fat and prevents meat from rotting in your colon and giving you cancer. [I’m working on a Zone-like regimen myself, but trying to make sure it’s something I can live with for a good long while, cos you know what happens when you go OFF a diet.]
