UGH
That is really all there is to say about the debacle we saw at the MCI Center last night. And how happy were we to be sitting right behind Olie when Gonchar accidentally knocked the puck in to get the Dolts on the board first? Oh, we were ecstatic, let me tell you. (/sarcasm) Horrendously sloppy play from the very same guys who were magic on ice just two days before this. The only high point was the big fight in the second period where even Olie got penalized for roughing. OLIE, for fuck’s sake!! All of MCI Center were on their feet getting out their frustration ya-ya’s on that one.
H is right. No coach (not even a really cute one who bites his lip in a sexy manner) can fix what ails this team. Until they decide they want to play with heart, this will continue. One excellent game followed by many many poorly played ones. It matters not if we are on the road or at home. It’s all the same, sadly.
Today is bum around day. Go to the bookstore, go to Dunkin’s for coffee, crap like that. I think I will take Max to the dog park shortly and let him run and romp with the other doggies. Let him get his ya-ya’s out too. We all have our ways, eh?
Have a lovely Saturday!
Comments from the Caps Message boards (rather sums it up):

I did however watch a wonderful “ice show”, it was a beautiful performance by all.
Harlem Globetrotters on ice when #55 banked a puck into his own net off another player, pretty cool.
When Jagr scored with over HALF the game played I noticed a group of guys deciding to play HOCKEY!!!
That was SCARY!!! Have no fear it ended quickly.
I learned how a pickpocket thief does his magic when a Tampa guy decided to hold a college level class on the subject.
Then some guy in a Caps outfit scored the second goal and went on a huge celebration tour like he actually made a difference.
The part where players go down the bench and “hi five” after a goal was all you had to see after Doig scored, NOBODY CARED, it’s a joke.
How’s about a little consistency fellas?? I, like everyone else, was horribly disappointed in the loss to Tampa, especially after the great win over Carolina. Then, tonight, we beat Carolina again 2-1. I didn’t get to see the game, or how they played, but a win is a win as far as I’m concerned. They have the talent, and Robert Lang is #3 in the entire league for points. So there’s no excuse. And I agree, as much as people grumble about the coach, I don’t blame him. Get your heads in the game guys, and please keep it there for awhile.
