Well, at least the first day is over and done with. This little introvert is totally and completely exhausted from having to interact with people for 8 straight hours (including lunch which they were kind enough to take me to and pay for!). Seems like a nice place and so far, so good. I will begin serious training with one of the other planning assistants on Tuesday but for now I am in “newbie” mode (meet and greet and take in lots and LOTS of information).
My head is so full it might explode. I wish I carried a coma in my pocket so I could just climb into it and relax. Alas, I cannot. So … must find other ways to just chill out.
For now, though, I will pretend that I am here (see below) and can breathe the ocean air.
Put your feet firmly on the floor and feel your groundedness. Breathe very deeply and slowly … now say it with me …
They can’t eat me. I am safe.
I can do this and my head will not explode.
There … better???
I love you (and congrats on this move!)

Yep, I know the feeling! First days/weeks on the job are always fun and very nerve wracking! Nothing to do but accept it and dive in there … it makes the days go more quickly. But I am sure you made the right choice and I look forward to grabbing you for lunch some Friday afternoon when I’m off since you will be so convenient!
