I found this on the Carolyn Myss board and I thought it was beautifully expressed.
Does anyone remember when computerized dot matrix printers were all the rage? I went to some kind of fair where you could pay to have a portrait of yourself computerized. The cool thing was that you could watch the portrait of yourself being built one ‘dot’ at a time. The ‘dots’ materialized in what seemed to be random, disjointed places on the screen. One here, one there. Then, over a few minutes time you could begin to see ‘form’ taking place. It was fascinating. As the dots filled in, all of a sudden…Voila! There you were, the entire ‘picture’ complete and a perfect likeness of yourself. In this analogy, every dot had it’s own ‘meaning’, reason for being there and a perfect order/placement adding to the ‘whole’ outcome of ‘you’.
So, too, (I believe) for every ‘dot’ in our lives. Every person, event, situation EVERYTHING we experience adds to the composite of our own soul’s portrait. We may not see the meaning in each little speck of our lives at the time or even in trying to grasp it, it may allude us depending on our perceptions…but in time, sometimes even the smallest pieces put the larger picture or insight together for us.
Sometimes the truest meaning of anything FINDS you.
Everyone tells me that I am such a beautiful writer. And then I read something like that where the imagery is so perfect and I know that I am nowhere near that skill level. I have so far to go as a writer … and a healer … and and and …
(feeling inadequate today)
