Hey, remember this fun event? The herniated disk (in case you be too lazy to click on a damn link, yo!) … it’s baaaaaaaaaaack! And with a vengeance too! I believe it was my mentor and friend Rose Rosetree who told me that the universe sends gentle nudges to “help you along” and when you don’t listen (did I ever make that chiropractor appt? nooooooooo), it nudges you again but a bit harder (which apparently involves not being able to walk or move around at all).
So .. I am guessing the uni feels I’ve been doing too much and I need to sit my ass down for an extended period of time. Alrighty then. I can do that. As my family can attest, I can sit my ass down real good. :)
It was a very busy week – da nephew of lurve was here for several days after the move and was a very big help. We tried several times to locate the library (which was right in front of our face) and I found out that *I* have more freaking books than this durn library! (Sobs into her snowball) We also visited the local Dunkin’s several times and learned that Grandma ain’t Maria (okay, like, 3 people will get that reference). Also, misto’s from Rita’s? Will put you into a sugar coma and get you into trouble when the husband comes home to ask what you’ve done all day and you are sprawled out on the couch in a zombie-like state and have to answer “uh, nothing”.
Thursday was my only day of supposed rest to which I reply HA!
Friday involved driving to NoVA and working on yard sale set up in 10,000 degree heat and Sat was actual yard sale (still 10,000 degrees) with lots of people trying to make ridiculous bargains (500 things for a quarter? okay?) which peeved me. Come on, people. $5 for a pair of good roller blades (which we priced at $10), a picture frame and some other crap. Uh NO. Nice try, though, sweetie.
We also went to my cousin Lora’s daughter’s graduation party in Frederick on Sat. Since we got directions (and I use that word loosely) from MapQuest, we got lost. But once we got there, we had fun and it was nice to see everyone. My mother actually made it there (thanks to some fierce determination (she is my grandmother’s daughter after all) and Bonnie’s willingness to do dangerous things) and she was happy to be out of her nursing home room.
Sunday, I puttered around the house doing more than I should have (see paragraph one of this diatribe) and went to several stores and straighted up. I even got in the pool. NG&E (neighbor Greg and Emma) were around and about (although not today at all. Odddd) but still haven’t met the wife. I wonder if she even exists. Plus, I think NG has our house bugged. Remind me to elaborate in another post. (I know he doesn’t but it’s just odd what he said)
Anyway, are you all caught up now? BTW, I didn’t go to place of now part-time employ today because of aforementioned back issues. Will go tomorrow and may also go rest of week if needed.
Okay, time to end this rant for now. More when my butt is less painful. :)
Oooh, that doesn’t sound good. :/ Are you going to see the doctor? Also, please do elaborate on the Neighbor Greg thing … I’m curious! Maybe he’s really a spy!
