Happy Halloweenie to youse guys out there! :) Finally, some good news to report. Duty’s cyst is no big deal, sayeth the neurosurgeon. Since it’s not causing any problems and isn’t impeding spinal fluid, he didn’t think surgery was indicated. Wheee! We are going to see Neurosurgeon #2 tomorrow for another opinion but short of him saying “he needs surgery STAT or his head will fall off”, we are of the mind to go for a 3 month MRI and keep a check on headaches and “whatnot”.
This has made the Snarkygrrl happy.
I spent the day with GOL yesterday and we watched two movies (“When Harry Met Sally” and “Bridget Jones’s Diary“) as well as some Eddie (“Definite Article“) and some Arrested Dev. It was fun keeping her company in her quiet hospital room. MUCH! MUCH! nicer than Children’s Hospital in DC. Although, no lie, Hell is probably much nicer than Children’s.
I didn’t mind the 3.5 hour ride home (at 10pm, mind you!) because I got my belated gift from GOL: the David Sedaris boxed set of cds! OOOOH! So much to listen to! It thrilled my little heart.
So, to sum up: no brain surgery for Duty on the horizon, 14 David Sedaris cds to listen to on long drives, many hours with my sweet goddaughter watching movies and laughing, curtains finally hung in the living room (although just place holders until we get prettier ones). For the moment, all is right in my world.
Here’s hoping you get lots of candy corn, Hockey Kim! :)
PS: iced oatmeal cookies are the work of some evil underlord and must leave my house immediately!
Yippe about Duty’s head, although in the olden days didn’t they just drop the family bible on a cyst to make it go away :)
Please don’t mention candy corn for a while, I’ve eaten so much I think I’m gonna hurl, but it hurts so good!
Caps 1 Flyers 8 (Duty stop gloating) I’m wondering if I should change my name to Curling Kim? But like the sicko that I am I just love my Cappies with all their turnovers, defensive lapses and rotten PK – demented or what?
DING DING DING! I should have expected my “oh so literate” twin to get this one! I shall be sending you a faboo treat soon!
Me talk pretty some day!!!
