Things continue to spin out of control in this administration. I wonder what the final straw will be.
*Lying about reasons for going to war on a country that hasn’t provoked us? Nah.
*Running roughshod over the very Constitution this country was founded upon? Nah.
*Fixing elections to keep their party in absolute power? Nah.
*Shooting a man and very possibly killing him in a drunken hunting accident? Maybe.
Depends, though. On what, you ask? How much more the American people (well, the 51% of morons who voted this crew “back” into power in ’04) are willing to accept. The scandals are running so thick and heavy that it’s hard to keep up. Seriously. And yet, they seem to remain untouchable.
In my life, I’ve encountered people who did the most heinous shit and just got away with it. Time after time after time. And it would piss me off to no end. How could others not even see what was so obvious to me?? I felt powerless to do anything and often just had to stand back and watch it unfold. That’s how I feel now. No matter what this crew does, no matter how low the “poll numbers” go, we are forced to sit back and watch our country get taken down by them. Yes, some are trying and I give them credit and support as best I can (Howard Dean, thank you thank you thank you for speaking the truth time and again). I try to understand that what you do always comes back to you. I pin my hopes on that universal law. And hope that it isn’t too late for this country to recover from this debacle.
(sigh) I am sad at what this country has become.
