YEY for Sunday mornings! I slept until 9:45am! That is almost unheard of in my little world so I am rested and refreshed. Not like I needed it or anything, though. I went to bed last night just because I was bored. Ever have those days where you have stuff to do (fun stuff even!) and you don’t want to do it? That was me last night. I watched a bit of AI, repeated ep 1 of The Office (UK version), re-watched the video of “Free Love Freeway” (one person will get that), read 3 pages of Oprah magazine and bored myself to tears. So, bed. Had the most unusual dreams (concert with David Gray singing “babylon”, kissing someone who was running for office as a “Republicrat” (best of the repugs and the democrats, a’ight?) and all kinds of interesting stuff going on. No wonder I didn’t awaken before then – I was having too much fun! Today we are going to visit my babygirl at Children’s and bring love, lugs and ‘nana puddin. Turns out my baby isn’t feeling up to visitors for various and sundry reasons so I will “absolutely” visit her another time when she’s feeling more like company.
Once again, file this under “Be careful what you wish for” section in your programme:
While driving in to work on Thursday, I asked the angels to send me any calls that might need my particular brand of compassion that day. WHOA!! Lordy Lordy! Did I get them too! After one call, I was so sad that I had to go hug Leo the dog to channel my love and concern for the caller into him. One of the things I asked the Uni for when manifesting a job to tide me over until I get the healing practice going was a place where I could be of service. I’m pretty sure that’s what they gave me. I am given multiple opportunities each day to offer compassion, laughter, pet meds and kindness to those who call. It’s nice, actually. Yeah, there are the occasional pissants who call (and they start the phone conversation with “Yeah, I’ve got a problem with you people ” (shudders)) but on the whole, they are much, much nicer than those who are either computer illiterate and penny pinching or just plain mean (both of which I spoke to in spades at Ye Olde POE).
AND! The angels rewarded me with a great parking space on Thursday – not once but twice! Quite the treat! I did ask, however, for them to dial it down just a tad on the calls so I can take more of them. That one call (where I had to go hug the dog afterwards) was so so so sad. But I’m glad I was the one who was on the phone with this woman. I hope I gave her some comfort or just a voice who cared.
BTW, I just want to send a shout out to my twinnie who has been granted one of her most ardent wishes by the Uni itself! YEY for love, twinnie! You totally deserve it.
On the political front, I’d need a thousand dogs to hug to get over what’s been going on of late. I found this snippet where else from a guy who was a rabid republican and a BC hater. I agree 10000% and hand me a dog to hug ‘cuz our country keeps slipping down that slippery slope into “opposite world” where up is down, war is good, shooting your friends in the face causes THEM to apologize to you and puppets are king.
It says a lot about our country that Clinton was impeached and Bush has not been. The idea that a sexual indiscretion is more significant that entering a war under false pretenses, flagrantly breaking the law on domestic surveillance, and presiding over an immense squandering of national treasure is, frankly, ludicrous.
I know this country will make it out of this darkness but wowza … it’s gonna be a long, hard road, dontcha know.
Peace out!
